Amazon Business is here. But are they offering value?

Launched in the UK only this year, Amazon Business is already splashing the cash to crow-bar themselves up the Google rankings.  Even for a niche like confidential shredding in Cardiff, they already have a link to their product on page one.

As a SME you’re always concerned when big business flexes its muscles and tries to take a chunk out of your regional market place.  And when I saw the price, my heart did sink a little, as their offering is pitched at exactly the same price point as the Taclus.

There is it.  10 sturdy sealable sacks for £34.45 including delivery.

But, that’s all you get.  Most regional providers will give you a much, much better deal.  For example, in south Wales Taclus will provide you with the same number of sacks and for the same price collect them, securely destroy them and provide you with all the paperwork to demonstrate that you have met your legal obligations for environmental legislation and the Data Protection Act.

Just like the big, expensive players in this market, we are certified for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.

Confidential Waste and Debentures in Crumlin

We are delighted to welcome D-Squared Maintenance Services to the shredding family!  D-Squared are based in Crumlin and had huge problems finding a shredding service that was willing to travel out to the village made famous by Max Boyce’s “I gave my love a debenture” story song.
For us, every customer is valued, whatever size and whatever amount of confidential waste.  We are able to keep costs down by combining delivery with our business services business and are in the Newport and Cwmbran postcodes area for delivery and collection once a week.
So whether it be 8 bags a week, or 8 bags a months, give us a call.  And if you have a bulk waste removal need, we can sort that out too!

Nazis, Iranian Revolutionaries and legalised theft. Weird facts about shredding that few people realise!

Weird facts about shredding that few people realise!

  • Did you know that the first paper shredder was invented by Mr Abbot Augustus Low from New York in 1909 – “to offer a more compact way of disposing of waste paper”.  In 1935, a German engineer named Adolf Ehinger created another shredding machine and he did so in a hurry…..its purpose was to shred hundreds of volumes of anti-Nazi propaganda before Hitler’s secret police found it.
  • Did you know that cross cut shredders became the norm after 1979?  This happened after Iranian revolutionaries stormed the American embassy and seized loads of shredded paper.  Because the shredders only cut one way, the revolutionaries were able to stick together the thin strips of paper to access stacks (literally) of confidential information.
  • Did you know that it is not illegal for someone to go through your rubbish?  What’s more, anything they find in there is fair game – including your personal details?
  • Did you know that only 10% of identity theft cases happen through online exchanges?  The majority of identity theft is via paper means.
  • Did you know that businesses need to safely dispose of your paper documents and that this is a legal obligation?
  • Did you know that shredding 1 tonne of paper saves, on average 17 trees and prevents air and water pollution?
  • Did you know that there is a new shredding business in South Wales?  Taclus Confidential are here to help you help your business and to keep the identities of your customers or patients SAFE.

We are excited to launch this new business and look forward to working with you!
